We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting with on-call responsibilities, mixing IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques, and ensuring compliance with federal, state, and regulatory standards. The ideal candidate will maintain accurate drug inventory, perform environmental monitoring, and ensure confidentiality of patient information. Responsibilities
+ Assist with on-call responsibilities as needed.
+ Successfully complete a competency verification plan upon hire and annually thereafter.
+ Mix IV and other pharmaceutical preparations using proper sterile compounding techniques.
+ Adhere to documented instructions, warnings, procedures, and best practices to ensure safe and effective drug preparation.
+ Perform environmental monitoring, sanitation, testing, and other activities as required by federal and state pharmacy regulations and USP-797.
+ Maintain accurate drug inventory through purchasing, receiving, stocking, pulling, counting, and tracking drug items in accordance with established policies and procedures.
+ Enter home medication lists and lab results into CPR+ for the patient's profile when available.
+ Clean ante-room and clean room according to USP-797 standards.
+ Maintain clean room logs.
+ Verify lot numbers and perform periodic inventory checks.
+ Ensure confidentiality of proprietary information and patient/client care information, complying with all federal and state laws related to confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) and electronic protected health information (EPHI), and following HIPAA guidelines.
Essential Skills
+ Registered Pharmacy Technician certification.
+ 1+ years of previous Pharmacy Technician experience.
+ Prior compounding experience, ideally with IV compounding.
+ Good customer service skills and willingness to work with patients/clients over the phone.
+ Strong documentation skills.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Certified Pharmacy Technician preferred.
Work Environment
The work environment is a closed-door pharmacy with a team of 5 people. The dress code is business casual. The shift is Monday to Friday, 8:30am-5pm, with on-call responsibilities on weekends every 3 weeks.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $26.00/hr.
