PC Network Technician

 The PC Network Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and upgrading computer hardware, software, and peripheral equipment.  Installs telephones, cables and connectors, and attendant software.  Assist others in the implementation of the Company’s Network.  Maintains trouble logs. Instruct users in the use of personal computers and networks. Investigates information, network, and communications needs of users.

We have flown an average of one new aircraft type per year over our 40-year history such as Proteus, GlobalFlyer, SpaceShipOne, Model 401, and Stratolaunch.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Configuring, and troubleshooting Computer systemsDocumenting computer and network problems and resolutions for future referenceEnsuring licensing compliance in accordance with local, state, federal, and international lawTroubleshooting and solving computer problems in a satisfactory amount of timeProviding user interface and support for facility Network and/or Telecommunications systems as neededInstalling network cabling and terminations.Evaluating new computer-related and/or telecommunications software and hardware and making recommendations to IT Director.Instructing and assisting employees in the proper use of computer and network resourcesProviding off-hours coverage when required and other related duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

2+ years’ college education in Computer Science / Information Technology, or 2+ years’ experience in supporting computer and network systems.Certifications: CompTIA Security +, Network +Proficient understanding of computer/network-related systems and their practical applications to problems and situationsAbility to obtain and maintain a DoD Security ClearanceAbility to manage multiple projects simultaneously under frequently changing prioritiesExcellent verbal and written communication skills including a follow up/status update mindset and excellent active listening skillsExperience with Windows Operating Systems and Microsoft Office Suite.  Cisco IOS is a plus.Knowledge of networking concepts: Switching, routing, firewalls, LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, DNS, UDP, VoIP, QoS, etc.Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
