As the Payroll Team Lead you will guide a team of payroll administrators on payroll processing to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely payments of all remittances. In this role you will provide guidance to the payroll team, coordinate payroll reconciliations, audit, and tax filings, while ensuring adherence to federal, state, and provincial regulations.

Essential Responsibilities:
Ensure timely and accurate processing of both US and Canadian payroll from start to finishAdhere to federal, state, provincial, local tax laws, wage laws, and relevant regulations in the U.S. and CanadaSupport the team by addressing payroll processing issues and recommending process improvementsReview and confirm payroll data to ensure accuracy in employee compensationOversee task allocation, ensuring the efficient completion of all payroll dutiesTrack team productivity, identify areas for improvement, and promote ongoing training and developmentCollaborate with the Payroll Supervisor to set and assess performance goals for direct reportsConduct payroll audits, support reconciliations, and perform variance analysis to ensure accuracy and reduce risks for compliance and finance teamsQualifications:
Minimum 5 years’ experience of full cycle payroll, in a complex organizational environmentMinimum 1 year experience in a payroll supervisor/lead positionPCP or PLP Certification with the National Payroll InstituteExperience in payroll reporting, reconciliation and Year-End Processing and tax filingsEnsures compliance with all legislative authoritiesAbility to maintain high levels of accuracy and strong attention to detailCustomer service-oriented with strong communication and interpersonal skillsStrong Working knowledge of Microsoft office products including ExcelProficiency with ERP accounting systems (JD Edwards would be an asset)A team player with the ability to work independentlyWork Conditions:
