JOB SUMMARY

Payroll Supervisors are responsible for overseeing the processing of payroll for multiple states on a biweekly schedule. Verify time entered, pay rates, benefit deductions, and manually calculate and enter garnishments. Create ACH and Positive Pay files to upload to financial institutions. Communicate with local offices regarding Verification of employment, pay issues, and all other payroll related information. Process wage and employment verification's within 72 hours of receipt. Communicate with Tax and Accounting department to process adjustments or refunds. Maintain a current and comprehensive understanding of all applicable and state and county payroll laws and taxes.

Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing Promote cohesiveness in the office environment Oversee day-to-day operations Collaborate with stakeholders regarding delivery of services Comfortable with public speaking Effective written and verbal communication Oversee compliance with applicable legal requirements, standards, policies, and procedures Oversee advanced reporting Demonstrate dependability Demonstrate effective problem solving and decision-making skills Exhibit computer efficiency Oversee complex special projects Identify and implement process improvement efforts Maintain necessary skills and knowledge to coordinate work flow Participate in, and assign, professional development and training activities Prioritize and multitask effectively Provide excellent customer service to internal and external clients Recruit, hire, train, and supervise employees Oversee policy and procedure updates Set up payroll databases and implement payroll processing for new service lines Research tax laws, deductions, and other special requirements as needed Troubleshoot issues for program offices and other CDCN teams Supervise wage, employment verifications, and withholding orders processing Resolve escalated complaints from internal clients Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s Degree preferred 2- 4 years previous experience preferred Combination of education and experience 2 years leadership experience preferred Ability to successfully pass a background screen Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours, if needed, to meet the job requirements.Employees must provide their own reliable internet if working a remote/hybrid position The incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the workday.
