Job DescriptionAECOM is looking for a Payroll Specialist III to join our payroll team. The Payroll Specialist III will create and analyze reports, participate in year-end activities, and will be responsible for payroll reconciliations.
The role is also responsible for assisting with daily payroll operations, as needed, along with ensuring compliance by staying current with state and federal tax laws. To be successful in this role, one should possess exceptional payroll and analytical skills
This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement to include a combination of office and remote work. This position can be based in, but not limited to: Glen Allen, VA.
Responsibilities will include, but not limited to:
Manage and resolve tax notifications and issues within ADP SmartComplianceComplete local/state tax setups as requiredCorrespond and participate in meetings with ADP Tax ServicesManage audits and report requestsResponsible for vendor and relocation managementResponsible for timely reconciliation of variances between applications (i.e. payroll, general ledger, time and labor) – for the US and CanadaCorrespond with employees on inquiries and issuesStay up-to-date on tax laws and legislationsManage state liens, ensuring work certificates are obtained timely, not to impact workWork closely with Sr Payroll Analyst and Corporate Tax contact on tax issues Participate in year end processing and management of the W2C processWork on special projects, as neededQualificationsMinimum Requirements:
BA/BS + 4 years of relevant payroll processing and analysis experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.Preferred Qualifications:
Having a CPP (Certified Payroll Professional) Certification is a plusExperience in ADP GlobalView and SmartCompliance is preferredPrior experience as a Payroll Analyst, Tax AnalystDeep knowledge of state and federal payroll and tax regulationsStrong excel skills, including using spreadsheetsExcellent analytical skillsExcellent customer services skillsThe ability to work under tight deadlineMaintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidentialAdditional InformationAdditional information
