Payroll Specialist

Trautman & Shreve, Inc. (T&S) is a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc. Trautman & Shreve is a full service mechanical contractor serving the Rocky Mountain region. T&S designs, builds, commissions and services mechanical systems, including heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing and piping systems for private and public sector clients, including commercial, institutional, high tech, industrial, public assembly, and healthcare.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Set-up newly hired employees into payroll system, including verification of wage, position, direct deposit, benefits and annuity.
• Receive and input office and field time cards; resolve inaccuracies and missing timecards with managers
• Set up garnishments upon request by jurisdictional agencies
• Weekly payroll processing, including mailing checks, direct deposits, and EFT reports
• Monthly apprentice invoice verification and processing
• Process monthly auto allowance payments
• Assist Senior Accountants and Payroll Manager with monthly closing process as needed
• Maintain union benefits in ERP and union applications
• Resolve employee inquiries regarding paycheck questions and discrepancies; update employee changes to profile such as addresses, banking, and tax deductions
• Process employee terminations, including final check and associated administrative tasks
• Corporate requests, including internal audits as scheduled
• Certified payroll processing
o Check and sign certified payroll reports
o Prevailing wage schedules including job setup, updates and maintenance
o Process weekly reports, quarterly apprentice certification approvals and uploads to LCP Tracker

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required
• 1-3 years of experience preferred
• Construction experience is a plus

Preferred Technical Experience

• Full payroll cycle
• Monthly, quarterly, annual payroll reporting
• Proficient with Windows and payroll software
• Garnishment processing
• Certified payroll

Typical salary range for this position is $30/hour to $35/hour and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.

Other Compensation:  position may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus
