Description We are offering an exciting opportunity in San Luis Obispo, California, for a Payroll Specialist in the construction and architecture industry. As a Payroll Specialist, you will be tasked with the accurate processing of payroll, maintaining up-to-date records, and ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and policies. Responsibilities: • Ensure accurate and efficient processing of payroll for both exempt and non-exempt employees across multiple states. • Handle the processing and compliance paperwork for prevailing wage payroll. • Review and verify timecards for accuracy and necessary approvals. • Stay informed about all relevant payroll laws, with a focus on prevailing wage and certified payroll. • Maintain knowledge of all internal policies relating to payroll and timekeeping. • Reconcile payroll records with the accounting system and any associated third-party systems. • Undertake regular reporting on employees and payroll on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. • Ensure all payroll reporting is in compliance with state and federal laws. • Utilize skills in Paylocity, Microsoft Excel, Certified Payroll, and Prevailing Wage. Requirements • Possess proficiency in using Paylocity for payroll processing tasks • Have a strong command of Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis • Hold a certification in payroll processing, demonstrating knowledge and competence in the field • Understand and apply the concept of prevailing wage in payroll calculations • Have experience in handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion • Exhibit strong attention to detail and accuracy in performing payroll duties • Show ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to liaise with various departments • Possess a problem-solving mindset to address payroll-related issues effectively • Have a good understanding of payroll taxes and employment laws.
