Payroll Specialist
Summary

The Payroll Specialist will provide operational support to all steps required to ensure “zero defect” weekly payroll cycle. This individual will also serve as a point of contact, providing as back-up to the payroll Manager, provide quality customer service to employees by responding to and resolving payroll-related inquiries in a timely manner, providing follow-up communication, as necessary.

Responsibilities Input, review, and audit timekeeping and other payroll-related records Train new users (employees, Supervisors, and Managers) in the proper use, audit, and approval for timekeeping system. Audit ensuring data accuracy for new hire, job change, salary actions, termination, and other payroll and employment related documents as received to the payroll department for expected paycheck results. Audit and communicate results to the appropriate Supervisor/Manager to ensure timely updates related to missing time punches, time-off request, and timeclock schedules. Input for on-cycle, off-cycle, and bonus payrolls on weekly basis as assigned and ensuring timeliness and accuracy for: time file batches, historical/retro activities, termination payments, adjustments, supplemental payments, and all third-party interface files.  Maintain all updates and documents related to Payroll audits, workflows, and work procedures. Assist in all year end processing including auditing, reconciling, and producing W-2s. Receive, review, and input for processing of Garnishments and Lien documents complying with all Federal and State Laws for payments and required response(s); ensure that ADP can appropriately deduct and pay recipient appropriately. Support with day-to-day administration of all payrolls related tasks Maintain department electronic documents and ensure accuracy for record retention, audit, and SOX compliance within payroll, as needed. Assist with maintaining all necessary updates for internal communications related to Kronos, ADP, and Success Factor as related to payroll information, training, forms, notifications, etc. Perform other duties, as necessary. 
  Requirements High School Diploma required with 5 years’ experience in payroll administration role or Associates Degree in Accounting or related field with 2 years’ minimum experience. Working knowledge of payroll processes including data entry, pay calculations, garnishments, tax set-up, benefits, multi-state taxation rules, and wage & hour laws, etc. Experience with ADP and/or Kronos preferred. Intermediate Excel skills.  Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to understand and track missing and/or required payroll components. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of information reviewed and processed. Enjoy daily interactions with employees, managers, and leadership via email, phone, teams, or in person.  Ability to understand, calculate, and explain complicated calculations and figures. Ability to travel approximately 3 times per year for team meetings or as needed to support business needs.  About Us

 Compensation Range: $23.25 - $33.25, plus bonus.
