Payroll Representative

The Payroll Representative is responsible for preparing, recording and entering payroll transactions along with providing customer service and assistance to business units and employees. This position will require extensive teamwork working in a shared HRIS/Benefit/HR Support Center. This is a hybrid position.

 

Essential Functions/Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Ensures compliance with applicable federal, state and local regulatory reporting requirements and guidelines. Prepare, generate, and distribute the bi-weekly payroll ensuring accuracy and all cutoffs are met in a high-volume environment.  Process garnishment and California Work Rule Pay meeting deadlines and with minimal errors as assigned. Assist field staff by promptly responding and resolving payroll questions, inquiries and errors identified through payroll audit. Assist with payroll projects (e.g. year-end processing, new procedures, system development and testing, etc.). Develop new SOPs and updating existing SOPs as processes change. Cross train payroll team staff members on processes / procedures.

Education:

High School degree or equivalent education required. Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Minimum 3 years of payroll experience, preferably in a high-volume environment. Oracle Cloud experience is strongly preferred. Previous working experience with in-house Payroll systems, such as in-house UltiPro, SAP and Peoplesoft; ADP Globalview, Ceridian preferred. 

 

Skills & Abilities (i.e. technical, knowledge, etc.):

Excellent customer service and follow-up skills with both internal and external customers. Capable of working with frequent interruptions and changing priorities. Effective communication skills, written, verbal and interpersonal. Excellent time management, planning, organizational skills and meeting deadlines. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work. Must demonstrate a high level of professionalism with the ability to maintain confidentiality. Working knowledge of IRS and multi-state labor law regulations. Knowledge of Federal, State and local laws and regulations pertaining to payroll. Knowledge and research experience in multi-state payroll (including local tax). Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Including basic formulas, v-Lookups and Pivot Tables.

Compensation and Benefits:

Compensation based on position, education and experience. Bi-weekly paid.  $24.50-27/hr This position is also eligible for our Support Central bonus program which is based on annual achievement of company performance.
