Payroll Coordinator
Description A payroll administrator is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of an organization's payroll process, including accurately calculating employee earnings, deductions, and benefits, ensuring timely paychecks are issued, and maintaining compliance with relevant employment laws, all while upholding data confidentiality and maintaining detailed records. Key responsibilities of a payroll administrator: Payroll processing: Calculating gross pay, processing deductions like taxes, health insurance, and retirement contributions, and generating paychecks. Data entry: Entering employee time and attendance data into the payroll system. Compliance management: Staying updated on federal and state payroll regulations and ensuring the company adheres to them. Recordkeeping: Maintaining accurate payroll records, including employee information, pay rates, and deductions. Benefit administration: Managing employee benefit deductions and coordinating with benefits providers. Issue resolution: Addressing payroll discrepancies, resolving employee queries regarding paychecks, and investigating payroll issues. Reporting: Generating payroll reports for management and tax authorities. Tax filing: Preparing and submitting payroll tax returns to relevant agencies. System administration: Utilizing payroll software to manage payroll functions and updates.
