Job Title: Payroll Clerk
Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Payroll Clerk to join our team. The Payroll Clerk will be responsible for processing weekly payroll and maintaining employee time records, as well as assisting with various HR-related functions. This role requires proficiency in the Paychex HRIS system for managing employee records and payroll processing.

ResponsibilitiesMaintain and process information in the Paychex HRIS system, including employee hourly rates, salaries, commissions, bonuses, time worked, paid leave, holidays, deductions, withholdings, and address changes.Ensure accurate processing of payroll deductions for taxes, benefits, charitable contributions, and other deductions.Reconcile payroll to the general ledger and monthly bank statements.Issue or reissue physical or replacement checks or direct deposits due to payroll errors or final discharge.Record and process federal and state payroll tax deposits.File employee paperwork, including new hire documentation, benefits forms, and compliance-related materials.Assist with company events, such as employee appreciation lunches, team-building activities, and holiday parties.Manage basic onboarding tasks, including scheduling orientation sessions, preparing welcome packets, and assisting with the completion of required paperwork.Administer the orientation process by introducing new employees to company policies, procedures, and benefits.Essential SkillsProficiency in the Paychex HRIS systemExperience with payroll processing and deductionsKnowledge of tax regulations and payroll taxesStrong attention to detail and accuracyAbility to reconcile payroll to the general ledger and bank statementsExcellent organizational and time management skillsAdditional Skills & QualificationsExperience in filing employee paperwork and managing compliance-related materialsAbility to coordinate and assist with company eventsExperience in onboarding and orientation processesWork Environment

This position is based in an office setting. The Payroll Clerk will work standard office hours and may occasionally be required to assist with company events outside of regular business hours. The role involves working with computers and other office equipment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $28.00/hr.
