About the opportunity

At Australia Post, we’re seeking two motivated Payroll Applications Support Team Leader to join our growing Payroll Operations team. In this role, you'll lead a team of Payroll Application Analysts, overseeing system upgrades, managing change control, and addressing Payroll queries within our tiered service model. You’ll play a key part in ensuring the team’s success while fostering a culture of growth, collaboration, and continuous improvement. What you’ll deliver with us

In this role, you'll lead a small team to deliver payroll system enhancements, optimise processes, and ensure smooth system upgrades. By analysing trends and root causes, you'll enhance payroll operations while maintaining clear documentation and fostering collaboration across teams.


You’ll also 

Lead the successful delivery of payroll system enhancements, process improvements, and related projects, driving initiatives to optimise payroll accuracy, efficiency, and automation while resolving complex system and process issues.Manage the testing, validation, and issue resolution for payroll system upgrades and patches, collaborating with IT, HR, Finance, and vendors to ensure seamless system functionality and compliance with payroll requirements.Maintain comprehensive documentation of system changes and processes, oversee the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) lifecycle for SAP Payroll updates, and provide Tier 3 support for system-related payroll queries, ensuring effective troubleshooting and training.


About you 

You will need strong leadership skills to manage payroll application sprints, ensuring effective resource allocation, system testing, and issue resolution. Your ability to drive successful User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and collaborate with cross-functional teams like HR, Finance, IT, and Payroll Operations will be key to meeting business objectives.A deep understanding of SAP payroll systems and Time & Attendance processes is crucial. You will need to troubleshoot complex Tier 3 payroll queries, distinguish between system and process issues, and ensure timely resolutions. You will need to build and maintain strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, including People & Culture COE teams, SAP Services, IT teams, and external vendors. Effective communication is vital—especially in translating technical issues to non-technical users and managing the timeliness of responses to ensure smooth payroll operations.
