Payroll Administrator
Description Robert Half Contracts Finance & Accounting team is seeking a hybrid and possibly even fully remote Construction Payroll Administrator to join a great firm in Roseville! Job duties would include: • Process routine payroll transactions, including verification of employee time entries, employment data, wage, fringe, tax, deduction and benefit setups. • Maintain and update employee records in the payroll and HRIS systems, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality consistent with company protocols and policies and regulations. • Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, deductions, tax withholdings, and benefits, providing timely and professional assistance. • Process garnishments, child support, and tax withholdings in compliance with regulations. • Verification of multi-state taxable wages to support the preparation of payroll tax filings and year-end reporting, including W-2s. • Assists and/or responsible for payroll accounting items such as 401(k) contribution transmittals, withholding order payments, employee benefit-related deductions. • Responsible and/or assists with reconciliation and payments of employment taxes. • Perform clerical tasks, including e-filing, data entry, and maintaining compliance and department training documents. • Actively seeks opportunities to learn and improve knowledge of wage and hour compliance, industry standard systems and software, and shares knowledge and training with others. • Complete, distribute and file payroll relevant reports, correspondence and other paperwork as assigned. • Completes confidential requests for information from internal and external customers, ensuring compliance with privacy regulations and company policies and procedures. • Education and/or Experience - Associate's degree (A. A.) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or a minimum of three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) preferred. • Language Skills: Can understand the main ideas of complex text on both concrete and abstract topics, including technical discussions in their field of specialization. Can interact with a degree of fluency and spontaneity that makes regular interaction with native speakers quite possible without strain for either party. Can produce clear, detailed text on a wide range of subjects and explain a viewpoint on a topical issue giving the advantages and disadvantages of various options. • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. This is a full-time position that would start right away. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems is essential for managing and maintaining financial records. • Knowledge of ADP - Financial Services is required for efficient payroll processing. • Familiarity with ADP Workforce Now is necessary for effective workforce management. • Mastery of Ceridian is crucial for handling HR, payroll, benefits, and workforce management. • Ability to work with Crystal Reports is vital for generating interactive content. • Experience in 401k - RRSP Administration is important for managing retirement plans. • Familiarity with About Time is beneficial for effective time and attendance tracking. • Understanding of Accounting Functions is needed for accurate financial reporting. • Skill in Auditing is required for ensuring compliance and accuracy of financial data. • Knowledge of Benefit Functions is necessary for managing and administering employee benefits.
