Job Summary:

As a Payroll Administrator, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing across multiple locations and states. You’ll be the go-to expert for payroll-related matters, leveraging Workday Payroll to drive efficiency, compliance, and seamless employee support.

What You’ll Do:

Payroll Processing & Administration

Manage bi-weekly payroll cycles for multiple business units, ensuring accuracy and compliance.

Process bonuses, retroactive payments, terminations, and off-cycle requests efficiently.

Assist in troubleshoot payroll discrepancies with local HR teams and resolve issues proactively.

Workday Payroll System Management

Aid and support in the configuration and maintenance of the Workday Payroll settings, including earnings, deductions, and tax configurations.

Automate workflows to enhance accuracy and efficiency.

Collaborate with HR, IT, and Finance teams to implement system updates and improvements.

Compliance, Reporting & Audits

Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local tax laws; manage tax filings (W-2, W-3, 941, 940).

Conduct payroll audits to verify accuracy in earnings, deductions, and taxes.

Reconcile payroll reports with financial records and support compliance efforts.

Employee Support & Communication

Serve as the primary point of contact for payroll-related inquiries from local HR teams across multiple locations.

Assist local HR teams with direct deposits, tax forms, pay statements, and payroll self-service in Workday.

Provide training and guidance on payroll best practices and system functionality.

Data & Analytics:

Generate custom payroll reports and analyze trends to support HR and Finance teams.

Optimize reporting tools for internal audits, compliance, and forecasting.

What We’re Looking For:

Payroll expertise: Strong knowledge of payroll processes, tax compliance, and reporting.

Experience with HRIS/payroll systems and ability to configure, troubleshoot, and optimize workflows. Workday Payroll experience preferred.

Detail-oriented & analytical: Ability to identify discrepancies, solve problems, and ensure accuracy.

Tech-savvy: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and payroll reporting tools.

Strong communicator: Comfortable training teams, answering inquiries, and resolving payroll-related concerns.

Adaptable & organized: Thrives in a fast-paced environment and meets deadlines with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.

3+ years of payroll administration experience (multi-state preferred).

Experience creating SOPs, training documents, and system guides.

Work Schedule & Travel:

Hybrid work schedule with normal weekday business hours.

Occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Minimal travel (0-10%) to support business operations.
