Payroll Accountant

The main purpose of this role is to work with our accounting group to produce accurate and timely financial statements for internal and external use. This will include general ledger accounting in accordance with applicable accounting standards as well as many other corporate and site accounting processes. You will work closely with our team during the monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting periods including the external audit. You will interact with corporate and site level associates and managers (our customers) to assist with financial information communication.
**Job Responsibilities**
+ Maintain the accounting for the company’s payroll related accounts (20% time)
+ Close accounting in support of the venues (20% time)
+ Support quarterly and annual audits, including schedule preparation and fulfilling sample selection requests (15% time)
+ Assist in the preparation of monthly journal entries to record transactions in appropriate accounting periods (15% time)
+ Prepare period financial analysis and reconciliation particularly related to payroll and other accounts (20% time)
+ Assist management with implementation of process and control improvements (10% time)
**Critical Skills & Experience Requirements**
+ Bachelors in Accounting (preferred)
+ 3+ years of experience with demonstrated increasing responsibilities and exposure to technical accounting issues (Required)
+ 3+ years of Experience in the Restaurant or Retail industries is preferred
+ 2+ years of Experience in working with SAP (Preferred)
+ In-depth understanding of GAAP and the ability to research and apply technical accounting issues to recording and reporting financial results
+ An advanced understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products, including Word and Excel is required
+ Strong organizational and communication skills essential to success
+ Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and projects
+ Communicate effectively with management, coworkers and external auditors
