Accountant performs accounting functions of variable complexity to ensure an accurate accumulation and reporting of financial data.

Duties and Responsibilities\rPerform accounting functions for payroll accounting, tax & compliance reporting, and DOE Reporting.Reviews and analyzes accounting data for compliance with policies, procedures, laws, regulations and DOE/NNSA orders.Interface and collaborate with the Finance Accounting and FP&A teams, Program Managers and Project Analysts, as needed.Processes employee receivables and related allowancesAssists with ServiceNow case management.Reconciles payroll related accounts.Prepares and submits assigned journal entries and account reconciliations and maintain working papers required to record accounting activities.Maintains subsidiary ledgers to support accounting control data and reconciles account balances.Compiles data for periodic payroll and related tax reports for distribution.Develops data to be used in determining cost variances. Analyze variances, prepare explanations, and investigate significant variances and account balances.Analyzes data to identify recurring problems, then investigates and recommends corrective action.Analyzes and interprets accounting data and presents conclusions to management.Assists in the development of detailed procedures and work instructions.Work with internal and external auditors - answering questions and providing documentation in a timely manner.You Must Have\rBachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance, and 2 years of relevant experience; or 2 additional years of relevant experience and/or certificationAbility to travel up to 5% of the timeAbility to work remote, hybrid, or on-site as directed by management and is determined by the needs of the businessUnited States CitizenshipRegular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this jobAbility to obtain and maintain, if required for position, a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance (some positions require additional DOE designations)We Value\r
