At Aecon, people are at the heart of everything we do. As the Paver Operator travel throughout southern Alberta and southern Saskatchewan is required. This contract is 7 months and will begin in April 2025.
Key Responsibilities
Operate the paver and other equipment safely and efficiently Ensure the asphalt mix is placed to the correct grade and thickness Inspect the prepared area before paving Maintain the correct speed and move the paver in a straight line Perform daily maintenance and safety inspections Preheat the paving screed before asphalt placement Monitor and control asphalt mixture temperatures Coordinate with trucks delivering asphalt to the paver Inspect paved surfaces for quality and smoothness
Required Knowledge & Experience
3+ years' experience operating a Paver, following all standard equipment procedures. Ability to communicate with supervisors, co-workers, contractors and the general public in a courteous, professional manner at all times. Maintains a valid Class 5 driver’s license or better. Own vehicle to get to and from jobsite. Willing to work out of town and in remote locations, as required. Willing to work overtime, as required. Must comply with the company's drug & alcohol program, including testing requirement. Other duties as assigned.
