Job Description:

The Patient Transporter provides physical movement of patients and patient related materials, supplies, and equipment within a medical complex. This individual has responsibilities involving indirect and direct patient care by transporting patients to and from hospital and clinic depts. spanning the entire campus.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION

For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.

Minimum Required: Completion of sophomore year in high school. Must be literate in English.

Preferred/Optional: High school diploma/equivalent.

EXPERIENCE 

Preferred/Optional: Patient transport, customer service or public relations experience. Demonstrated proficiency with verbal and non-verbal communication skills. Knowledge of medical terminology.

CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES 

The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position.  Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position.

Minimum Required: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) within three months of hire.

Preferred/Optional: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification awarded by the American Heart Association (AHA) at time of hire.
