Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

BSN obtained within 12 months of hire date into this positionWorking knowledge of nursing in a hospital settingUnderstanding of accreditation and regulatory requirements as they relate to patient safety and performance improvementWorking knowledge of quality improvement tools, data analysis and statistics, and publicly reported patient safety initiativesWell developed communication skills, both oral and written

Licensure/Registration/Certification:

Alabama RN License

Desired Qualifications:  

MSN  or MNExperience with the Root Cause Analysis and Failure Mode Effect Analysis processesAbility to critically analyze reasearch articles and appropriately apply findings to practiceSuccessful completion of a Clinical Nurse Leader education master's program or experience in a CNL roleCPHQ certification

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities

Establishes and coordinates a System wide patient safety program that fosters ongoing improvement in patient safety and complies with accreditation and regulatory standards.  Works with executives, management, hospital and medical staff to develop a culture of safety and medical error prevention.
