BayCare is currently in search of our newest Patient Referral Specialist who is passionate about providing outstanding customer service to our community. BayCare’s top priority is the health and well-being of our communities as Tampa Bay's leading multi-specialty group with more than 600 providers practicing 45 specialties in over 175 outpatient locations throughout the Tampa Bay and west central Florida regions.

Position Details

Location: Bartow, FloridaStatus: This is a full-time position.Shift: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM (hours may vary)Days: Monday – Friday 

The Patient Referral Specialist is responsible for:

Obtains referrals and authorizations for BayCare Medical Group practice offices.Utilizes practice management system and other software to gain information to assist in processing referrals.Understands and works with various insurance payer rule sets, payer manuals and assist providers, practices, and staff in timely turnaround of authorizations and referrals.Cross trains to assist practices in other front and back-office functions.Performs other duties as assigned.Familiarity & ability to use Various software including Availity, Emdeon and other systems.Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, hours may vary.This position requires a mandatory two-week onsite training. You will train for one week in Clearwater and one week in Tampa.

Education

High School or Equivalent

 Experience

One year of healthcare experience required. Experience with obtaining authorizations for a Specialty office and experience using on-line payer authorization systems preferred.
