Patient Placement Specialist - Transfer Center-Justin Drive Office Building II - Rotation
Job Summary

Ensures front line admitting activities are conducted in an effective and efficient manner to the Department of Patient Placement. Responsible for accurate management of information entered into Electronic Medical Record to support Patient Placement and registration billing practices. Ensures the very best patient and family experience by optimizing all customer interaction.

Job Duties Performs daily office functions which include report reconciliation, management and facilitation of incoming and outgoing calls.Schedules inpatient urgent and emergent admissions.Coordinates registration, gathering of insurance information, and computer input of all information to assure complete registration of inpatients in the electronic medical record.Communicates with patients and relays information specific to arrival and placement.Communicates with the physicians when arranging urgent and emergent admission to collect information needed to support admission, transfer, discharge process.Serves as a critical link in complex patient flow processes and is a resource to nursing units to resolve issues in bed management software with admissions, cancellations and transfers.Maintains all logs, such as the trauma logs.Coordinates efforts with other departments to resolve any admission, discharge, or billing conflicts to facilitate patient throughput activities.Performs reconciliation of accommodation codes and exception orders to ensure correct placing and billing procedures.Manages requests to send system alerts and transportation requests for patients.

Position Details

Hours: Rotation based between 7 AM and 11:30 PMWeekends: Every other weekend is requiredHolidays: 3 holidays per yearThis position has the potential to work from home. Must successfully complete onsite orientation. Please note this isn't a fully remote job.
