**Responsibilities**
**Work Schedule:**
Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm, including a one hour lunch
No Weekends, No Holidays!
**Job Specific Details and Tasks:** The duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Ensures the accuracy and completeness of daily patient registrations.
Manage patient and visitor pass length.
Renew passes as needed.
Elevate denied passes to appropriate Security Forces and Wing leadership for waiver authority program.
Maintain communication with Security Forces personnel 2 to 3 days per week or 72 hours prior to patient/visitor arrival.
Manages the entry access excel list for patients and visitors in collaboration with security forces.
Ensures a high level of quality service provided to patients.
Emergency and non-emergency transportation providers such as wheelchair transport and ambulance services.
Manages EMS coordination such as ambulatory transportation services, VA transportation, shuttle vans, public transportation, ride share services, etc.
Responsible for adequate staffing and overage in all Visitor and Patient Access areas.
Monitors all patient and visitor access processes generally and individual workers specifically to assure compliance with 99 Air Base Wing (ABW) Installation Defense Plan (IDP).
Offers guidance to employees related to customer service.
Ensures proper utilization of purchased software: MHS Genesis, Tiger Connect, MS Teams, Microsoft Office, etc.
Keeps up to date on changes imposed by Department of Healthcare Administration (DHA), Air Force Medical Readiness Agency (AFMRA), Nellis Air Force Base Installation Defense Plan, and 99 Medical Group (MDG) local policies.
Ensures Mike O’Callaghan Military Medical Center Group Commander, 99 Air Base Wing Commander, and Nellis Air Force Base Security Forces are informed of any unusual and significant issues that may affect breaches in security, safety mitigation, or access to health care.
Ensures a high level of quality service provided to patients.
Sets priorities appropriately.
Reviews health care delivery plans; identifies market forces, patient and beneficiary demand and other issues impacting MTF capabilities, access and patient care compliance and/or quality of care and services.
Researches and analyzes complex health care operations. Prepares presentations, project papers, staff and biometric reports and other medical administrative correspondence; delivers to senior MTF management.
Notifies and directs professional staff and other medical administrative personnel regarding process, policy and requirements.
Using analytical skills and tested methodologies, conducts studies in support of various projects, program, processes or initiatives covering all aspects of military health care activities. Projects may be complicated by regulatory requirements, long-range projections and objectives, and/or political and economic uncertainties.
Validates and implements MTF policy along with Installation Defense Plan, in support of hospital accreditation program and quality improvement efforts.
**Qualifications**
**Minimum Qualifications:**
Equivalent combinations of education and exprience may be considered.
*** Degree/Education:** Associates Degree in related field
*** Experience:** Minimum 2 years medical administration experience
*** Life Support Certification:** Possess and maintain a current AHA or ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
*** Security:** Must possess ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
**Additional Qualifications:**
Working knowledge of patient management and referral processes in a hospital or clinical setting.
Mastery level knowledge of military Medical Services, civilian health care delivery systems, Military management health care principles and techniques, TRICARE Managed Health Support contracts and clinical and financial systems, policies, procedures and standards.
Must have knowledge of DoD, Air Force, Army or Navy and Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC) standards and privacy and confidentiality requirements (HIPAA).
Must have working knowledge of Department of Defense (DoD), Federal, State, non-profit Healthcare systems and organizations, to include DoD Tri-Service Military Healthcare Systems, TRICARE purchased care system, Medicare, Medicaid, Veterans Administration (VA), Public Health Department, and Regional and local support services.
Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, Outlook (e-mail), and Internet familiarity is required. This includes various microcomputer equipment, and be able to input, retrieve and format documentation.
Effective communication skills both orally and in writing. Research of operational activities may require coordination with high level officials such as the comptroller, civil engineering, or civilian and federal agencies.
