POSITION SUMMARY:
Schedules patients according to established office procedures. Answers telephone by the third ring as needed. Obtains patient information such as name, address, referring physician, reason for visit and authorization number. Updates established information. Makes reminder calls prior to the day of service. Updates and corrects return mail. Obtains and distributes schedule of the next day of service. Greet patients and visitors; determines their needs and directs them accordingly. Answer non-medical questions and give non-medical information to patients within practice guidelines. Gives routine non-medical instructions in preparation for the patient's visit to the Center. Reviews all information sheets and forms after new patient registration. Ensures that all necessary information is present. Assists new patients who are unable to complete the patient information sheet. Prepares encounter form and attaches it to the medical record for use in conjunction with the patient visit. Researches Misys computer system to determine if patient is a new or established patient. Addresses complaints and
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years office management experience. Medical Office experience preferred. Previous Accounts Receivable and Collection experience required. Possess strong written and organizational skills with attention to detail. Must be able to multi-task and work well under pressure. Must possess problem solving skills as well as using good communication. Computer skills with experience in word processing, and excel required. Oversees daily flow of office and maintains facility compliance in regards to OSHA, HIPAA, and JCAHO.
