**JOB SUMMARY:** The Patient Care Technician (PCT) delivers high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of delegated patient care services in accordance with the PCT’s skills/training and the needs of the Department within the Acute Care Setting. The PCT works under the clinical direction of the registered nurse (RN). **MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS** **Licensure:** + None required. **Experience:** + No specific experience is required; however experience in an acute care setting or currently enrolled in Nursing Program is preferred. + Lutheran will provide a formalized training class; successful completion is required in order to continue employment. + Additional orientation specific to unit responsibilities may also be provided. **Education:** + High school diploma or its equivalent (GED) preferred **Registration/Certification:** + BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days from start date in position.
