Summary
Under the direction of the Radiologist, CT & MRI Manager, supervision of the Lead Technologist & Technologist, participates in the daily operation of the Department with a focus on customer service and direct support to the technologist. The Patient Care Coordinator assists in the daily operation of the department by performing tasks including, but not limited to, greeting patients, escorting patients to and from other departments, transporting patients by wheelchair and stretcher, and assisting with transfers utilizing the slide board. The Patient Care Coordinator also participates in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by assisting the technologist with cleaning, stocking supplies, stocking linen and disposing of trash and dirty laundry. For persons interested in pursuing a career in one of the Diagnostic Imaging modalities, the Patient Care Coordinator position provides exceptional hands-on experience and an opportunity to gain a vast knowledge base not provided through normal educational pathways.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
+ • Supports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry.
+ • Greets patients in the waiting room within 5 minutes of arrival.
+ • Transports patients by wheelchair and stretcher.
+ • Assists with patient transfers utilizing a slide board.
+ • Maintaining a clean workspace.
+ • Stocking of supplies and linen.
+ • Disposal of trash and dirty linen.
+ • Assists with patient flow through the department.
+ • Follows dress code policy.
+ • Other duties as consistent with this role.

+ • Maintains HIPAA compliance.

+ • Handles all work-related information in a confidential manner.
+ • Able to push wheelchairs, stretchers, and hospital beds.
+ • Effectively communicates with technologists, nurses, providers, patients, and visitors.
+ • Interact positively with team members.
+ • Respects patient’s culture, lifestyle, religion, and age.
+ • Accepts feedback and channels emotional reactions in a positive manner.
Education and Experience
+ • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification required
+ • Patient Care and Customer Service experience preferred
+ • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
An equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements.
Working Conditions/Physical Demands
Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, and occasionally up to 50 pounds. Some stress related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
