Job Description

As a Patient Care Coordinator, you will utilize Medent as the EMR for patient records, log medications, reconcile with the pharmacy for medications, and update the computer system for MRI, CAT scan, and other requests. You will also complete return-to-gym and sports notes, put scripts in EMR, and call facilities for STATs. You will manage the fax machine between offices, schedule appointments with patients via phone, verify patient insurance coverage, and collect copayments. Additionally, you will support patient questions related to insurance, assist with check-in and check-out procedures, maintain and update patient records, process insurance claims, create invoices, manage patient billing, and assist with patient examinations.

ResponsibilitiesUtilize Medent as EMR for patient records.Log medications and reconcile with pharmacy.Update the computer system for MRI, CAT scan, and other requests.Complete return-to-gym and sports notes.Put scripts in EMR and call facilities for STATs.Manage the fax machine between offices.Schedule appointments with patients via phone.Verify patient insurance coverage and collect copayments.Support patient questions related to insurance coverage.Assist patients with check-in and check-out procedures.Maintain and update patient records.Process insurance claims, create invoices, and manage patient billing.Update and maintain accurate patient medical histories and records.Assist with patient examinations, take vital signs, and prepare patients for procedures.Answer calls for all offices.Utilize problem-solving skills to schedule appropriate appointments.Triage all patient questions to the proper clinical point of contact.Essential SkillsExperience with EMR, particularly Medent.Previous medical assistant experience.Knowledge of medical terminology.Experience with patient scheduling and insurance reviews via phone.Excellent phone etiquette.Additional Skills & QualificationsCertification as a Medical Assistant preferred, but not required.Insurance knowledge from previous roles.Work Environment

You will be part of a team of 8 in this department. After the contract and good performance reviews, 2 days of work from home will be allowed. You must provide your own equipment and workspace for remote work. The role primarily involves handling patient inbound calls, with some outbound calls to reschedule if a doctor misses an appointment for surgery. The position is always based in Sparta until work from home starts. The shift is Monday to Friday, with Mondays always from 8 am to 5 pm, and Tuesday to Friday from 8 am to 4 pm or 9 am to 5 pm. The exact schedule will be provided.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
