Commercial IT is a global IT capability supporting the Commercial organisation. We business partner with Commercial areas: Biopharma, Oncology, International and Japan – and also Rare Disease Unit. Job role

Responsibilities include all aspects of planning, analysis, design, configuration, testing toward the implementation of IT Platforms and Products with Patient Access & Services. This role sits within Solution and Service Delivery and will involve working closely with third party suppliers both software vendors and professional services.

Key accountabilities

The Platform Engineer will maintain deep working knowledge of platforms/products/infrastructure aligned with their development assignmentsLead build, test, and deployment activities for assigned platform and IT product initiativesAs needed and opportunistically, provides technical expertise to peers and 3rd party development suppliers to ensure consistency in alignment to AZ IT and Commercial IT standards and processesWorks with platform delivery resources to ensure validation of business and functional requirements as part of product and platform development responsibilitiesServe as an internal consultant on key assigned platforms and technologies for IT and business partners across all business areasEvaluate the applicability of new technologies / application features and make recommendations for technology and business strategic roadmapsHelp refine business requirements, set priorities, lead expectations, resolve issues, and work with the other members of the technical team to deliver innovative solutionsCollaborate with regional solution architects and capability teams to co-create functionalities with strategic markets with a view to scale globallyDemonstrate significant understanding of the application development processes of AstraZeneca’s implementation of the product.Lead, mentor and coach the AZ Application Development team based in Chennai to increase throughput and qualityServe as an internal consultant for IT and business partners across regions and business areas (Commercial, Medical)

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

Partners with Platform Success Lead(s) on continuous improvement opportunities within platform and product level backlogsIdentifies new hardware/software technologies to fit specialised business needs and configurationsIdentify issues with current processes and provide feedback on proposed changes to enhance effectiveness of IT

Essential skills & experience

Understanding of the Salesforce technology stack, this role will also include a learning & development wrap to support growth and learningUnderstanding and use integration patternsProven track record of designing and operating mission critical applicationsDevelopment standard methodologiesExperience working with and influencing business and BA’s around Salesforce architecture and designsExperience supporting and guiding development teamsExpertise in application design patterns and processesPrior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good eye for businessExpertise in Continuous Integration and Deployment methods delivered as part of an agile team

Desirable skills & experience

Salesforce integration architectures and patternsSalesforce HealthCloud and/or Salesforce Communities and/or Salesforce Voice and/or Adobe WebProven experience of managing and coaching/mentoring offshore teams of developersProven experience of developing and managing relationships with 3rd party suppliersExperience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures, and guidelines
