Parts Specialist
Overview Salary: $44,000-$55,000 Annually Summary: This position will require a candidate to research, source, and place orders for parts/supplies while ensuring timely deliveries to fleet repair facilities. Additionally, the candidate will assist in proper data entry for fleet maintenance records. This is a full-time position that includes benefits and salary. Principal Duties and Responsibilities: •Firm understanding of mechanics from truck parts to heavy equipment and the dynamics of the entire team/cycle from start to finish •Be able to look up parts and understanding Kenworth, Cat, Cummins and other parts manuals also understanding of mechanical terms •Price and compare part prices; identify best decisions on purchases and confidently remain accountable for those decisions •Order truck and heavy equipment parts using PO process; receive and approve invoices daily •Assist with loading and unloading of parts as needed to ensure safe and secure transport •Verify the accuracy of parts and quantities when picking up or receiving items from suppliers •Communicate any delays, discrepancies, or issues with deliveries •Navigate computer software programs to assist with fleet maintenance records •Attend team building training •Perform inventory tasks, such as stocking shelves and organizing parts, when not running deliveries •Perform inventory control doing manual counts and working proactively to ensure all necessary parts are on hand when needed •Assist in picking up and deliver parts and supplies to and from local suppliers, company locations, and job sites as needed •Maintain organized records of deliveries, pick-ups, and receipts for proper tracking •Follow all safety and company policies while operating company vehicles and handling parts Employee Relations: • Work in conjunction with Parts Department in Mokena •Professionally interact with mechanics, employees, and parts suppliers, consistently upholding integrity of the company and department •Provide exceptional customer service to both internal and external customers Global Responsibilities: •Regular attendance and physical presence at work is an essential function of this position •This job may require additional duties not listed above and the employee may be asked to perform those duties to meet business needs •Assist with RO's/ VRO's as needed Qualifications: Education/Specialized Knowledge/Professional Certifications: • High School Diploma or equivalent required • Knowledge of TMT maintenance software a plus, but not required Experience: • Minimum 2 years of work experience with at least one year in a trucking or transportation related position preferred Skills/Abilities: • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational problem solving and administrative skills • Proficient working with basic math to include addition, subtraction, division and multiplication • Proficient in Microsoft Suite • Strong written and verbal skills Working Conditions: • Operates within a professional office environment • Routine usage of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers and filing cabinets • May require travel up to 30% Physical Requirements: • Regularly required to talk or hear; frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus Benefits Information: At Ozinga, we care about the well-being of our team members both in and out of the workplace.
