Location: Somerset, KY Category: Staff Posted On: Wed Aug 26 2020 Job Description: Western Kentucky University, is seeking a Part-Time Interactive Video Services (IVS) Facilitator for classes held in Somerset, KY, as part of the University Center of Southern Kentucky at Somerset Community College. The part-time, as needed position will most likely involve evening and weekend hours, as well as day time hours. The position involves work during the spring, fall, winter and possibly summer academic terms. Position provides staffing in IVS classrooms and the work includes operating IVS equipment and assisting the instructor as needed in the classroom. While there are no immediate plans, this position may be converted to full time in the future if student demand increases and funding becomes available. This position may require extensive walking and/or sitting for extended periods of time. Responsibilities: The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs. + Is present at all class meetings. + Properly operates IVS equipment. + Arrives at assigned IVS classes 30 minutes before class time. + Has all IVS equipment operational by beginning of class. + Troubleshoots IVS equipment problems with IVS helpdesk staff. + Maintains IVS classrooms in clean and orderly arrangement. + Assists professors with classroom assignments, distributing materials, accepting student work and sending it to correct location, proctoring exams. + Assists with office duties as assigned. + Maintains security of IVS studio classroom. Job Requirements: + At least one year of college coursework. + Must have good communication and customer service skills. + Must have basic understanding of computers and video equipment. + Proficient in e-mail and basic office programs. + Familiarity with office equipment, particularly copiers, scanners and fax machines. + A willingness to work evenings and weekends and possibly some day time hours.
