GCDS offers a substantial need-based financial aid program to support students from a range of socio-economic backgrounds.  Greenwich Country Day School is seeking a passionate and skilled Part-time Choral and Strings Assistant to join our vibrant music department in August 2025 . The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with talented Middle and Upper Elementary School students, fostering their love of music and helping them develop their musical abilities. Responsibilities Include: Middle School Chorus Program + Assisting with the Middle School Chorus rehearsals and performances + Leading Vocal Sectionals to provide targeted instruction + Accompanying rehearsals and performances on the piano + Providing coverage for the Chorus Director when needed, including leading rehearsals and conducting performances + Assisting the Chorus Director with the preparation and execution of the school musical, including rehearsals, performances, and other related activities Upper Elementary School Strings Program + Assisting the Orchestra Director with the Upper Elementary School strings program + Leading String Sectionals to develop students' technique and ensemble skills + Tuning string instruments to ensure optimal sound + Teaching small group lessons to provide individualized attention Required Qualifications: + Basic vocal pedagogy knowledge to effectively teach singing techniques + Piano skills to accompany rehearsals and performances + Proficiency in a string instrument to lead sectionals and teach small group lessons + Classroom management techniques to maintain a positive and productive learning environment + A passion for teaching children and fostering their love of music Preferred Qualifications : + A music education degree is preferred but not required Interested candidates are invited to use the link provided to submit a cover letter and resume to Raquel Salcedo, Director of Recruiting & Talent   Powered by JazzHR
