Parent Program - Cabin Counselor - Hiring Now Summer 2025!

JOB SUMMARY:

The Parent Program Cabin Counselor is responsible for the safety, health, and well-being of all campers within assigned cabin throughout the day and from the time they return to the cabin for the evening to when campers are released to instruction the following morning. The Parent Program Cabin Counselor is responsible for assisting campers with any needs or challenges that arise during the week, referring to the Head Counselor as needed. This role provides you with the ability to connect with the campers outside of the park setting and enhance the overall experience. You must be willing to evolve and adapt with the needs of the business and adhere to and support all work protocols and guidelines.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/ RESPONSIBLITIES: 

Ensure campers to perform self-care, such as; bathing, hair care, and teeth brushing  Assist young campers throughout the day on overall wellness, scheduled instruction, and getting to activities  Assist campers upon arrival and departure from camp  Calmly administer patience and compassion with confidence to all guests-parents, campers, staff and VIP's  Communicate any and all maintenance needed to uphold a safe and sanitized cabin  Take attendance with required night supervisor sign off and enforce lights out  Stay at camp in bunk style cabins and expected to remain inside the cabin from lights out until morning  Report and record details of incidents, such as accidents or rule violations to your direct report Familiar with all camp facility locations, camp schedules, and emergency procedures  

PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES: 

Well-spoken and articulate over the phone, through written contact, and in person    Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with moderate supervision, agile, and able to pivot quickly   Comfortable handling confidential information    

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SPECIAL SKILLS: 

High school degree or equivalent Experience working with children 8-17 years oldStrong interpersonal skills. Able to interact effectively with individuals at all levels of the organization.  

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:  

+/- 15 campers (8–17-year-old) 

BASIC SCHEDULE/REQUIREMENTS: 

As a requirement of this position, pre-hire criminal history clearances are collected from the Pennsylvania State Police (PATCH) system, child abuse clearances are obtained through the Department of Public Welfare, and federal history is taken through FBI fingerprint screening. Must be 21 years of age or older Physical Capabilities: bend, twist, push, pull, stand, lift 50lbs. Preferred availability: Minimum 1-week commitment within summer camp season
