Founded in 1906, McLeod Health is a locally owned and managed, not for profit organization supported by the strength of more than 900 members on its medical staff and more than 2,900 licensed nurses. McLeod Health is also composed of approximately 15,000 team members and more than 90 physician practices throughout its 18-county service area. With seven hospitals, McLeod Health operates three Health and Fitness Centers, a Sports Medicine and Outpatient Rehabilitation Center, Hospice and Home Health Services. The system currently has 988 licensed beds, including Hospice and Behavioral Health. The hospitals within McLeod Health include: McLeod Regional Medical Center, McLeod Health Dillon, McLeod Health Loris, McLeod Health Seacoast, McLeod Health Cheraw, McLeod Health Clarendon and McLeod Behavioral Health.  

Job responsibilities include those listed in competency document. Maintains a professional image and exhibits excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values.  Provide comprehensive, effective, care to any patient transported by McLeod HeartReach Critical Care Ambulance Maintains positive communication (written and spoken) when collaborating with healthcare facilities.  Adheres to all McLeod and South Carolina EMS DHEC policies and protocols.  Attends all required meetings and educational meetings.  Maintains certifications and licenses as mandated by the position.  Completes documentation (written and electronic) per policy.  Stocks and cleans ambulances and medical equipment per policy.  Identifies and quickly treats any potentially life-threatening situations. 

Qualifications /Training:

Must be able use electronic documentation to enter patient’s transport information.   

A minimum of (3) years with a busy 911 system.

Licenses/Certifications/Registrations/Education

Must have a current South Carolina Paramedic Certification 

Must have a National Registered Paramedic certification.

Must have and maintain a South Carolina Driver’s license

ACLS, PALS(or equivalent), BLS certifications are required.

Preferred Certifications:

FP-C, CCP-C, or CCEMT-P
