This individual will room patients, taking vital signs, initiating intravenous lines, drawing blood, performing 12-lead EKGs, applying splints, assisting with procedures and patient monitoring. The Paramedic – Emergency Department works in a team environment to provide necessary care to our patients and their families and may assist in other clinical departments as assigned under the direction of the RN. **JOB QUALIFICATIONS** **EDUCATION** _For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation._ **Minimum Required:** High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a paramedic program. **Preferred/Optional:** Associates degree in paramedicine. **EXPERIENCE** **Minimum Required:** Proficient with reading, writing and speaking English. **Preferred/Optional:** Experience as a paramedic. Proficient with reading, writing and speaking in alternate languages. **CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES** _The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are required for this position. Licenses with restrictions are subject to review to determine if restrictions are substantially related to the position._ **Minimum Required:** Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications provided by the American Heart Association. Current State of Wisconsin Paramedic license.
