JOB SUMMARY
The Paramedic-Critical Care Transport practices under the medical supervision of a licensed Wisconsin physician, utilizing physician directed protocols to deliver emergency and critical care for specified patients (pre-hospital at emergency sites, within the hospital setting and inter-facility transport) in accordance with Wisconsin Chapter DHS 110.
The Paramedic-Critical Care Transport will deliver patient care in a variety of environmental settings including scenes, referring facilities, ground ambulances, and in the hospital. The Paramedic-Critical Care may be utilized in other departments during down time.
The Paramedic-Critical Care Transport practices at a professional level which serves to build and maintain relationships with hospital department, referring organizations, and others in order to promote integrated delivery systems. The effect will be improved working relations with peers, physicians, referral agencies, ancillary staff, and other hospital departments resulting in improved patient care.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
For positions requiring education beyond a high school diploma or equivalent, educational qualifications must be from an institution whose accreditation is recognized by the Council for Higher Education and Accreditation.
Minimum Required: Graduate of an EMT-P training course
Preferred/Optional: Associate’s degree in related field.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Required: Demonstrated proficiency with administering complex first-aid treatment, maintaining composure under pressure and communicating to individuals in stressful situations. Proficient with reading, writing and speaking English.
Preferred/Optional: Experience as a paramedic. Proficient with reading, writing and speaking in alternate languages.
CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES
