Robert Half has partnered with a respected law firm in the Denver Metro area. The Litigation Paralegal will play a critical role in providing support to attorneys handling complex legal cases within a variety practice areas, including business and commercial law, estate and trust planning, criminal law among other practice areas. This position involves managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and assisting with trial preparation. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the litigation process, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail. Key Responsibilities
+ Organize and maintain case files, including pleadings, correspondence, and discovery documents.
+ Monitor deadlines and ensure compliance with court rules and filings.
+ Conduct legal and fact-specific research using tools such as Westlaw and LexisNexis.
+ Summarize findings and provide attorneys with comprehensive reports or memos.
+ Draft pleadings, discovery responses, subpoenas, deposition summaries, and other legal documents.
+ Assist in preparing trial exhibits, witness outlines, and presentations for courtroom use.
+ Assist in coordinating the collection, review, and production of documents during discovery.
+ Organize document production sets and maintain version control for all filings.
+ Coordinate logistics for trial, including scheduling, preparing trial binders, and arranging witnesses.
+ Manage evidence and assist attorneys during trial, including real-time note-taking and exhibit handling.
+ Serve as a point of contact for clients regarding case developments, deadlines, and responses to discovery.
+ Assist attorneys in preparing clients and witnesses for depositions and trial.
+ Track billable hours and prepare time entries for case-related work.
+ Assist with scheduling court appearances, depositions, and attorney calendar management.
Skills and Competencies
+ Strong knowledge of trial procedures, court rules, and litigation best practices.
+ Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases concurrently.
+ Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and precision in all tasks.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ Proficient in legal software and tools, including Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems, and e-discovery platforms (e.g., Relativity, CaseMap).
+ Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a paralegal role
• Proficiency in using Adobe Acrobat for document management
• Experience with Case Management Software for effective case handling
• Ability to handle Billing Functions accurately and efficiently
• Experience in Briefing and presenting case summaries
• Proficiency in Calendar Management for scheduling and tracking important dates
• Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal
• Familiarity with Discovery processes in legal cases
• Proven ability in drafting Legal Documents with precision and accuracy
• Experience in drafting Motions for court proceedings
• Knowledge of e-Filing systems and procedures for legal documents
