What You Can Expect

As a member of the Zimmer Biomet Legal Department, the Paralegal will provide support and assistance to the in-house Legal team and the business segments they serve.  Duties include preparation and review of various legal documents, coordinating aspects of certain projects (intake, management, and tracking efforts) and assuming responsibility for completion of same under supervision of counsel.

How You'll Create Impact Under supervision of in-house Counsel, serve as primary legal team contact to key internal corporate functions and business units, foremost among them: i) the Sourcing Team (i.e. direct-and-indirect contracting and procurement); and ii) the Clinical Research team.Regarding Sourcing Team support: assist Sourcing Team with their day-to-day legal needs concerning contracting in the U.S. and Canada (i.e. review, revision, negotiation and execution of contracts and related documents).Under supervision of in-house Counsel, work with ZB colleagues and outside 3rd parties to review, negotiate, draft, edit, and sign off on confidentiality agreements – with little oversight from attorneys.Together with the in-house Legal team, IT and others, manage the company’s Record Retention Policy and practices including litigation holds, policy questions, practice / implementation issues, updates / best-practices, and record preservation. Together with the larger in-house Legal team, assist on efforts regarding product liability and/or other litigation (and related settlements).Work cross functionally and as support or “backup” for other Legal team staff, paralegals and colleagues.Assist in drafting, revising or otherwise preparing a variety of legal documents. as directed with attorney oversight; prepare various summaries and reports, as needed.Act as liaison with various internal departments and personnel as needs arise—remaining flexible to changes in a dynamic team and company.Assist with basic legal research as necessary.

 Education/Experience Requirements A minimum of 2+ years of paralegal or similar experience with a 4-year degree, or a minimum of 6+ years of paralegal experience A combination of education and experience will be considered.
 Travel Expectations Up to 10%

Expected Compensation Range: $63,290 to $79k, plus bonus
