About the right team member

​​This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Paralegal to be at the center of the action of Mindbody's dynamic Legal Team. You will be a driving force behind the success of the Legal Team, ready to roll up your sleeves and work collaboratively across the Company to juggle deadlines, manage simultaneous projects on a variety of legal matters and jump in wherever needed to help your team. You will use specialized legal knowledge and honed project management skills to ensure the Company has a bias toward action, getting things done which will underpin the success of the most defining milestones for the Company. Specifically, you will be a central interface between Legal and all team members world-wide, serving as a key subject matter expert on privacy, consumer protection, marketing laws and requirements and other regulatory matters related to our products and services. All of this will require you to work collaboratively in a highly motivated, dynamic environment with external and internal stakeholders, including outside counsel, Mindbody employees and Mindbody executives worldwide. ​ 

About the roleServe as primary subject matter expert for all things product related for our legal team, including understanding and documenting product functionalityBuild and maintain relationships with all key stakeholders and teams across the business related to our productsCreate and maintain legal team records related to key regulatory and compliance functionality of company productsProvide legal support to departments across the company, including product, engineering, marketing, security, procurement, and finance  Assist our attorneys in designing and implementing process improvements, researching and summarizing relevant legal issues, and providing legal advice to relevant business teamsObtain and maintain drafting knowledge of privacy provisions in contracts and other privacy-related documents. Draft and negotiate DPAs and privacy provisions using established templates under the supervision of in-house counsel Help to track, manage, and organize privacy-related notices and similar terms published internally and externally on various platforms Support attorneys with researching and analyzing various compliance topics, including obligations regarding privacy laws, marketing regulations, trade practices, and other laws on a global basisDraft audience-appropriate communications in order to interact with all facets of the organization as well as external facing communications with counsel and other stake-holders, as necessaryProvide support to the entire legal team on team-wide objectives and completion of OKRsAll other duties as assignedSkills & experience​​BA/BS degree or practical experience required (+Paralegal certificate preferred)​At least five years paralegal experience in a large law firm or with an in-house legal department. In-house experience preferredSelf-Motivated. You have hustle, superior organizational skills, integrity, and great follow through on tasks. You don't get easily overwhelmed​​A team player. You're willing to help wherever needed. You are adept at working smart and exhibit problem solving techniques​Excellent communication skills, including the ability to finely tune your communications based on the audienceExceptional interpersonal skills, sense of humor, highly team-oriented and a commitment to high legal standards and professionalism requiredExcellent computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications, specifically Excel and PowerPointExcellent analytical skills with strong attention to detail, demonstrated ability to analyze legal advice and then apply it to business needsFamiliarity with global privacy and marketing laws, including CCPA, GDPR, TCPA, ADA, HIPAA and other similar laws/regulations is a plus  Excellent record-keeping skills, including the ability to create and maintain product, regulatory and procedural documentation across products, jurisdictions and teams
