**Job Title: Lead Painter** **Job Description** As a lead painter, you will be responsible for the painting department for window and door frames. Performing painting duties such as filling, smoothing, and repairing each product's surface, mixing the coating liquids, and spraying each layer according to specifications. To ensure success as a lead painter, you should have excellent hand-eye coordination, a good knowledge of paint-mixing techniques, and strong attention to detail. A top-class painter should be able to produce even, hard-wearing coatings that exactly match the colors and finishes requested. You will oversee personnel and be responsible for assignments for the painting department. You will be responsible for training and performance of personnel in the department, ensuring production, performance, and quality standards are consistently met. Your duties will include preparing surfaces for spray painting by sanding, patching, and sealing cracks and holes, scraping, and smoothing surfaces. You will select, mix paint, and match colors where exact matching is required. You will apply paint to window and door surfaces, clean painting tools and equipment, apply masking tape and coverings over areas that are not being sprayed, select and attach the correct spray nozzle to create the desired spray pattern, spray machines, products, and surface areas using industry techniques, clean spray nozzles and other spraying equipment after each spray job, and inspect and assess spray coatings after the paint has dried.
