POSITION SUMMARY:
The Maintenance Worker II Painter responsible for painting and repairing assigned areas across Westminster-Thurber. This role requires the individual to be flexible to perform tasks inside as well as outside on the grounds when necessary. The painter is also required to keep an ongoing inventory of paint and related equipment.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP AND SCOPE:
This position requires the individual to be responsible for maintaining a good rapport with residents, staff, and visitors. The painter will represent the Maintenance Department and follow the goals and standards established.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES AND AUTHORITY:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES % OF JOB TIME DEVOTED
TO DUTY OR TASK
Make repairs and paint and offices, common areas andapartment turnover as assigned including walls, ceilings, doors
woodwork etc. utilizing safety practices while working. 50%
Prepare walls, ceilings and woodwork for painting and be organized to
the degree that the area is cleaned upon the completion
of the assignment. 15%
Work from ladders. 10% Make repairs to drywall as needed. 5% Plaster, tape, hand stucco and be able to operate stucco machine 5% Match colors of paint. 5% Remove old wallpaper and hang new wallpaper as assigned. 5% Paint outside as assigned. 5%
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE - MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
High School, GED and/or Vocation training; Must possess the ability to read, write, and understand the English language.Must be able to follow instructions.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Experience in preparing walls for painting, use of all related tools needed to complete painting assignment.
