Summary: 

Under direct supervision, this position applies coats of paint, varnish, stain, enamel, or lacquer to decorate and protect interior or exterior surfaces, trimmings, and fixtures of buildings, and other structures. Mud, tape, float, and skim sheetrock to a smooth or specified texture. Ability to perform other interior/exterior task, such as framing, hanging sheetrock, setting doors, and minor ceiling grid repairs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

Craftsperson

Receives instructions needed to perform job from supervisor. Set up and operates wood working tools to cut, form, and finish material for the job. Erect or dismantle structures, repair, and refinish walls or structures. Install wood and/or metal parts. Erect or dismantle roofing and/or siding. Framing, drywall hanging, and minor drywall finishing, etc. Painting, touch up, or incidental painting after structure repairs. Form, place, and finish concrete. Ceiling installation and repair. Hang doors, install locks, and hardware. Cut, fit, and weld structural and miscellaneous steel. Maintain shop equipment and tools. Follow all Nabholz and job specific safety procedures. Development of all project plans, standards, policies, and procedures. Assist with implementing change management and supervisory processes across all construction related issues within projects.

Painter

Smooth surfaces, using sandpaper, brushes, or steel wool, and remove old paint from surfaces, using paint remover, scraper, wire brush, or blow torch. Fills nail holes, cracks, and joints with putty plaster or other filler. Selects premixed paints, or mixes required portions of pigment, oil, thinning and drying substances to prepare paint that matches specified colors. Paints surfaces, using brushes, spray gun, or paint rollers. Simulates wood grain, marble, brick, or tile effects. Applies paint with cloth, brush, sponge, or fingers to create special effects. Apply base, bed, and skim coats of sheetrock mud to desired finish. Minor framing repairs to allow for patching. Minor Ceiling repairs, such as new tile. Erects scaffolding or sets up ladders to perform tasks above ground level. May also hang wallpaper and fabrics. This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes. All other tasks as assigned

Education/Skill Requirements:

1 to 3 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Be active in team and morale building throughout all job duties including office personnel and craftsmen. Ability to foster a cooperative work environment. Ability to work neatly and cleanly. Ability to learn and develop new skills outside of typical duties. Ability to perform paperwork properly and accurately, such as daily logs and task hazard analysis sheet. Ability to operate a vehicle safely and legally for company use. Ability to self-motivate and perform task in a timely and organized manor. Work is performed indoors and outdoors and must be able to tolerate paint fumes. Work in overhead structures and around and beneath machinery. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work in noisy and hot or cold environments. Ability to work outside of normal working hours and to respond to emergencies 24 hours a day, 7 days a week as needed.

Physical Demands:

Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding, to bend, crouch, kneel, and maneuver body to reach areas needing painting, often by extending arms and legs to fullest capacity while grasping hand tools. Work at heights while maintaining balance. See well (naturally or with correction) and distinguish colors. Climb and maintain body balance. Use hands and arms fully; Stand, kneel, bend, crawl, or crouch for long periods. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds often and up to 100 occasionally. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects with considerable weight.

Office, cubicle, workstation, job trailer, or job site.
