Job Description

We are seeking an experienced painter with a history in the marine industry. The position involves working at various locations including NOB, BAE, MHI, and potentially Huntington Ingalls Industries. The role requires knowledge of mixing and applying standard epoxies and UHS coatings, as well as surface preparation techniques. The ability to repair spray equipment and follow supervisor instructions is essential. Additional duties may be assigned as necessary to complete the job safely and efficiently.

ResponsibilitiesMix and apply standard epoxies and UHS coatings.Perform surface preparation techniques.Repair spray equipment correctly.Follow directions from supervisors.Complete additional duties as necessary for job completion.Essential Skills3+ years of painting experience in the marine industry.Experience with brush and roll techniques.Knowledge of epoxies and submarine painting.Ability to follow detailed instructions.Additional Skills & QualificationsC14 and C12 Certification is a huge plus.1-2 years of experience in a marine industry environment.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The position requires regular walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, climbing, balancing, and crawling at various heights and in confined spaces. Occasionally, you may need to sit and use hands to feel, grip, or handle objects. The role involves safely lifting and moving up to 50 pounds and using vision for close-up, distance, and peripheral tasks in low light conditions. You may also need to wear PPE such as safety shoes, hard hats, goggles, and respirators to safely perform assigned tasks.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Newport News, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
