Why You’ll Love This Role: As a PACU Registered Nurse at our state-of-the-art Orthopedic Surgery Center, you’ll be an essential part of the post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) team, ensuring patients recover safely and comfortably after surgery. You’ll play a vital role in monitoring, assessing, and supporting patients as they transition through Phase I and Phase II recovery and prepare for discharge. What You’ll Do: ✔️ Provide compassionate and skilled post-operative care to patients recovering from surgery ✔️ Assess and monitor patients’ vital signs, pain levels, and overall stability ✔️ Intervene in emergencies and manage blood and fluid transfusions when necessary ✔️ Ensure proper infection control and wound care, including changing bandages and dressing surgical wounds ✔️ Educate patients and families on post-operative care and discharge instructions ✔️ Communicate effectively with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes ✔️ Maintain detailed and accurate documentation of patient care and recovery progress ✔️ Ensure the PACU environment remains clean, safe, and well-stocked What You Bring to the Team: ✅ Registered Nurse (RN) license (Maine or eligible for licensure) ✅ Experience in a surgical or PACU setting preferred ✅ Certifications: BLS (required), ACLS (required) ✅ Strong assessment and critical thinking skills to identify potential complications ✅ Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to support patients and their families ✅ Ability to stay calm, organized, and efficient in a fast-paced recovery setting ✅ A passion for patient safety, comfort, and education Why Join Orthopaedic Associates of Maine?
