Job Description
Key accountabilities
· Contribute to delivering key strategic product and technology roadmap initiatives.
· Create high quality and scalable software and influence others to do the same.
· Design and execute the implementation of a Testing Strategy
· Pioneer innovative approaches to further improve the quality of our software products
· Deeply care about Customer problems and technical excellence
· Proactively participates in team’s Discovery and Refinement activities
· Effectively identifies opportunities to remove waste and automate manual processes.
Role responsibilities
· Review functional and design specifications to ensure full understanding of individual deliverables and provide feedback
· Identify test requirements from specifications, map test case requirements and design test coverage plan
· Develop, document and maintain functional test cases and other test artefacts like the test data, data validation, harness scripts and regression/automated scripts.
· Execute and evaluate manual and regression/automated test cases and report test results
· Identify any potential quality issues per defined process and escalate potential quality issues immediately to management.
· Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements
· Raise and retest defects during Peer Testing, System Testing and Regression Testing
· Analyse and update regression test scope to improve regression code coverage
· Verify compliance is maintained
· Client issue logging, investigation and follow up with Client. Initiate speedy and permanent resolution to problems with clear documentation
· Monitor progress of Client defects and ensures that users and other interested parties are kept informed. Takes corrective action to avoid or minimise delays
· Work closely with Support, Developers and Business Analyst for defects resolution
· Contribute to continual improvement by initiating or participating in people, process or technology advances
Skills and Competencies:
· Experiences in Quality Management Software and Processes
· Knowledge and experience in technical aspects of software solution being tested
· Experience working within the financial services industry or equivalent complex domains.
· Experience testing Web Based Applications, Web services, XML, GUI, Reports and databases utilising a wide range of test tools
· Experience and/or accreditation in technologies including.
Platforms : Windows, SolarisApplication Server : Apache TomEEReporting : Crystal ReportsDatabase : Oracle, SQL serverOther : Web Services, XML, Git/Subversion Repositories· Experience in working individually and in team environments
· Proven expertise in problem-solving and analytical skills
· Experience in working to tight deadlines and delivering to agreed timetables
· Have a fundamental understanding of test techniques as well as exposure to automation testing and frameworks.
· Good communication skills both written and verbal to ensure clear definition of test plans, test cases and defects for all stakeholders such as developers, support and clients
· Proven experience defining Testing Strategy for engineering teams
