Overnight Security Railroad Ambassador

Rosewood Miramar Beach, a Rosewood Hotel, seeks an Overnight Security Railroad Ambassador. The Railroad Ambassador is responsible for courteously greeting and escorting guests across the railroad tracks. Assists safety and security in monitoring all guests, patrons, visitors, and associates for suspicious activity. Provides efficient friendly customer service always to all.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Report for duty punctually ready to work in full uniform, paying attention to personal hygiene and tidiness. Greet guests, patrons, and visitors when approaching the railroad tracks with superior customer service. Able to make recommendations for guests of the hotel’s restaurants and activities. Monitor railroad tracks for trains and assist guests across tracks when it is safe to do so. Advise all in the area of the approaching train and do not allow passage when railroad alerts begin to sound. Ensure the railroad train tracks are monitored at all times (24 hours a day / 7 days a week) and ensure the crossing gates for the railroad tracks are closed at all times. Ensure the work area is clean and clear of debris or any objects that can obstruct the job duties from being performed safely, efficiently, and effectively. Observe and report incidents or suspicious activity as appropriate for the circumstances and/or as required by the Company. Perform other duties as required.

Workplace Safety: Is aware of and works within departmental safety guidelines, including reporting potential hazards and hazardous behavior.

Required Skills:

Maintain a professional and courteous manner whilst at work. Be known for being honest, reliable, confidential, and trustworthy. Ensure guest and employee privacy and security by respecting confidential information. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills. Prior customer service experience preferred. Must be able to multi-task. Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period or an entire shift. Must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 lbs with or without reasonable assistance. Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for hotel guests. Able to effectively communicate in English; fluency in other languages is a plus.

Qualifications: High school diploma and hospitality background.

Experience: Previous experience as a Security/Safety Ambassador for a luxury or ultra-luxury property preferred.

The pay scale for this position is between $21.00 and $22.00/hour. This is the pay range for this position that the Hotel reasonably expects to pay.
