Job Description
Provide repair, installation, and warranty support for galley refrigeration equipment aboard US Navy Ships and Submarines.
ResponsibilitiesPerform assessments of small refrigerator/freezer units, ice machines, and walk-in refrigeration units.Conduct repairs including brazing, component replacement, and leak testing per EPA codes.Handle general repairs such as equipment installation, grinding, cutting metals, pipe fitting, fire watch, and labor tasks.Execute shipboard and shipyard safety practices and procedures.Troubleshoot and document found condition reports, job discrepancy forms, and required forms accurately and timely.Research and accurately identify OEM parts, and assess equipment and material discrepancies with manufacturers.Maintain continuity among departments by documenting and communicating actions, discrepancies, and ongoing needs.Essential SkillsMinimum of 3 years of experience is preferred.Experience in shipyards or Navy is mandatory.Must possess tools, gauges, and refrigeration tools.Clean driving record.Extensive knowledge of Naval Shipboard acronyms and engineering mechanical systems.Ability to compile data into clear, succinct reports.Experience with designs, schematics, and drawings.Professionalism, customer focus, and strong organizational skills.Works well in a fast-paced environment and handles pressure effectively.Additional Skills & QualificationsUniversal Refrigerant Certification or Type II & III Certification is a plus.Basic electrical knowledge for refrigeration components.Brazing (soldering) experience.Ability to learn and work independently.Self-motivated team player with the ability to multitask.Detail-oriented and coachable.Why Work Here?

Work Environment
The majority of work will be performed in various shipyards, primarily aboard ships. This role involves working in tight quarters. The work schedule is primarily first shift from 7 am to 3:30 pm, with some overtime depending on workflow.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hampton, Virginia.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $25.00 - $28.00
