Job Description

Our distribution business is experiencing transformative growth—with no end in sight. 

That’s why we’re looking for an Outbound Manager, 1st Shift for our Garland, UT, distribution center. In this role, you will oversee the day-to-day outbound operations of our fully automated conveyor system. Responsibilities include staffing, training, safety, shipping, continuous improvements and loss prevention. The position also is responsible for working with supervisors to meet the company’s operational goals and helping define the processes, procedures and systems necessary to support and sustain long-term growth. Applicants should have proven knowledge of warehouse organization, skill sets and duties as they relate to outbound operations. The ideal candidate also possesses excellent administrative and organizational skills. 

A day in the office looks like this: 

Overseeing all outbound operations within the distribution center facility by initiating, coordinating and enforcing operational and personnel policies/procedures Creating and implementing standards and metrics for the team  Ensuring SLA standards are being met across all outbound departments Working with the Outbound Leadership team on process improvements and scalability for their respective departments Complying with federal, state and local warehousing, materials handling and outbound requirements Ensuring the organization and physical appearance of the Outbound department are in good standing order  Developing employee performance by appraising, coaching and counseling Establishing safety practices and holding others accountable for adhering to them Planning and monitoring daily labor needs based on immediate and forecasted order and unit volumes Working to maintain a high level of associate morale and recognition 

Qualifications

High school or college degree Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience within a high-volume automated distribution center Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (especially Word, Outlook and Excel) Strong cross-function communication skills Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail  Ability to manage multiple projects/assignments simultaneously Outstanding time-management skills with the ability to prioritize and schedule tasks for maximum efficiency Knowledgeable of safety practices and OSHA requirements Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
