Outage Coordinator - Tennessee Gas Pipeline

Position Description

Position Overview:

Responsible for coordinating, scheduling, tracking and communicating maintenance and outages for Tennessee Gas Pipeline to minimize customer impacts and system capacity losses.

Key Responsibilities:

Works closely with Gas Control Management on determining an overall schedule for outages and maintenance projects based on historical flows, capacity utilization, and various operating conditionsWorks closely with Gas Control Engineering and capacity planning on determining outage impacts through hydraulic modeling.Create outage entries into the maxout system ranging from the budget process to unscheduled maintenance items throughout the year and hold weekly internal outage update meetings to include commercial, scheduling, field outage coordinators, gas control, and other involved parties.Monthly presentations to external customers on upcoming outages, project durations, and their associated impacts.Work with system design on determining the impact of outages via hydraulic modeling and entering them into MaxOutStrategize to combine possible outage timeframes to limit multiple impacts in the same segment.

Position Requirements

Position Requirements:

Regular, predictable attendance and willingness to work outside of regular hours to coordinate changes in project scope or duration.Must possess a basic understanding of the various types of pipeline maintenance and projects, including but not limited to pipeline pigging, anomaly remediation, compressor station maintenance and repair, pipeline replacements, etc.Effective communication and documentation (written and oral)Ability to recognized the need to maintain confidentiality when appropriateStrong organizational skills with ability to prioritize work to meet multiple deadlines while maintaining the ability to adapt to fluctuations in those deadlines and /or requests to support unanticipated tasks.Ability to analyze information and recognize/communicate irregularities, conflicts, and issues.Must be proactive and a self-starter with ability to check work to ensure accuracy of data, reports, files, and other documents.Able to review pipeline schematics to “pre-plan” potential outage segments.Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Word.

Education:

An associate degree or higher is preferred. A minimum of 5 years direct experience as defined above with proven results may be accepted as a degree substitute.Knowledge of the gas control operations is a plus

*Job level will be commensurate with experience and skill set.

Preferred Experience, Skills, Knowledge (Not Required but advantageous for this position):

Preferred 7-10 years of experience in pipeline operations or gas controlExperience in Gas Control, Control room, SCADAExperience in Capacity planning or pipeline schedulingGeneral understanding of different types of natural gas facilities including, compressor stations, meters, pipeline facilities such as regulators, valves, etc.Knowledge of the Tennessee Gas Pipeline maintenance process, Tennessee Gas System and Tennessee gas nominations and scheduling process is preferredKnowledge of MaxOut is preferred.
