Leidos’ Defense Systems Land Systems Group is seeking an Ordnance Test Technician to join our team supporting the U.S. Army at Redstone Arsenal, AL in the preparation and conduct of ordnance testing and modification. Responsibilities include data collection, processing, and evaluation of ordnance debris, setup of test sites, post-test data collection and documentation. Candidate will work closely with engineers and other technicians to qualify ordnance performance metrics and perform data collection responsibilities. Candidate will also develop detailed procedures for the disassembly, modification, and assembly of ordnance components. Candidate will work with customers on customer site supporting a variety of Army Ordnance Projects. The position requires good communication skills, working well on a team with diverse skillsets, working on fast paced environment, and willingness to take on a variety of duties to help the team be successful.

Primary Responsibilities:
Candidate will work closely with engineers and other technicians to qualify ordnance performance metrics and perform data collection responsibilities. Candidate will also develop detailed procedures for the disassembly, modification, and assembly of ordnance components. Candidate will work with customers on customer site supporting a variety of Army Ordnance Projects. The position requires good communication skills, working well on a team with diverse skillsets, working on fast paced environment, and willingness to take on a variety of duties to help the team be successful. Data collection and analysis from ordnance testing, Test preparation and setup for ordnance testing; Also, the development of procedures for modification of munitions.
Basic Qualifications
BS degree in engineering with 8-12 years of prior relevant experience OR a Master’s degree with 6-10 years of prior relevant experience. In lieu of a degree High school diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 18 years of relevant experience.
Ability to lift 35 pounds multiple times during shift
Detail oriented for data collection and documentation
Candidate must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance
Candidate must be a resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama, AL area.
Preferred Qualifications
Highly organized, demonstrating the ability to work independently at times due to fast-paced and highly productive work environment
Previous military experience
Experience working with ordnance items
Ability to create design documentation, requirements specifications, and other technical documentation
Strong understanding of mechanical assemblies

Pay Range:Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
