This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for DIB MRTFB to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service. About the Position: Position located within the Maintenance and Demil Missile Division of the Letterkenny Munitions Center. Responsibilities Utilize a basic knowledge of electronic principles and theories. Use electromechanical functional operating principles in the rebuild and modification of various missiles and missile sub-assemblies. Perform operations in the removal, replacement, and visual check for serviceability of explosive and non-explosive electronic and electromechanical components of a variety of solid propellant missiles. Visually inspects, modifies, repairs, or replaces subassemblies or components. Read and interprets SOPs, TMs, and DMWRs to determine correct procedures for performing work. Performs explosives operator work in support of conventional ammunition maintenance or demilitarization. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Who May Apply: US Citizens Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. There is no specific length of training or experience required. However, you must be able to demonstrate, through experience shown in your written application materials that you possess the sufficient knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the work of this position without more than normal supervision. Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Ordnance Equipment Worker ~ without more than normal supervision to include remove, replace and inspect missile components. Working with explosives and/or propellants - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. Physical Effort: There is frequent standing, bending, and working in tiring positions, although there is occasional sitting down at work benches. Required to lift, push, or pull a variety of items weighing up to 50 pounds and some above that weight. Working Conditions: May work in environmentally controlled areas or in an area that is well lighted, heated, and ventilated. Outside work is done in the elements as the mission requires. Work is sometimes muddy and hot and humid. Education Additional Information Male applicants born after December 31, 1959, must complete a Pre-Employment Certification Statement for Selective Service Registration. You will be required to provide proof of U.S. Citizenship. One year trial/probationary period may be required. Direct Deposit of Pay is required.
