We're seeking an Optical Engineering Intern to join our Orlando, FL Manufacturing Operations and Engineering team during the summer of 2025! You will gain experience on highly technical revolutionary optical products that utilize photonic principals to serve the national interests of the United States. This position requires you to work 100% on-site.


Responsibilities:

This role will be responsible for utilization of optical equipment, optical test and execution, GUI software, and product verification testingIncluding projects related to optical process and performance, verification test software, and final system environmental and acceptance testing in an SDA regulated environmentYou will receive technical guidance and mentorship from the different engineering groups that support the operational progression of the product lines focusing on software and opticsThe internship will help establish foundations for the selected applicant in space-flight production learning about ISO 9000 compliancy and other industry best practice standards



Qualifications:

Required: 

Must currently be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate studentMust be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the futureMust be able to obtain and maintain applicable security clearanceExperience working in a fast paced exciting team environmentCuriosity for how things work, and drive to learn moreHands-on or theoretical experience with optics and lasersUnderstanding of computers and software capabilities



Desired:

Pursuing a degree in Photonics, Software/Computer Science, Electromechanics or related field is preferred, not requiredMinimum GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred, not requiredPrevious experience working with optical systems and testing outputExperience with software systems (Python, C #, SQL)Experience working in aerospace manufacturing

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$49,700 - $101,800
